The second “Avatar” film by star director James Cameron is already in the starting blocks. On December 14, the sequel to the fantasy epic celebrates its premiere in German cinemas. Of course, a real blockbuster also includes the corresponding soundtrack, which will feature a well-known R&B artist: Canadian Tesfaye aka The Weeknd will contribute music to “Avatar: The Way of Water”.

The 32-year-old already gave his followers a small audio sample on Instagram on Sunday. The Weeknd posted a short music frequency on the social media platform, in which a choir can be heard. In addition, his fans got to see the “Avatar” logo to dispel any doubts.

Apparently, the makers of the Hollywood film are also happy about the prominent musician. Producer Jon Landau shared a photo with the artist on Twitter. “As the Na’vi say, ‘Zola’u nìprrte’ soaiane Avatar’… Welcome to the Avatar family,” Landau captioned the picture. In 2009, James Cameron created one of the most successful films of all time with “Avatar” – which was largely due to the visuals: The long-awaited sequel “The Way of Water” begins ten years after the events of “Avatar: Departure from Pandora”. . The story revolves around the Na’vi couple Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), who have since started a family with several children. But the family idyll is also threatened by external dangers in the second part of the sci-fi series.
